Women of the Hudson Valley

Selections from the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum Permanent Collection

Ethel Magafan Early Evening

This online exhibition of women artists from the WAAM Permanent Collection, celebrating Women’s History Month, was put together by our HVVACC partners the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council. The text was written by Derin Tanyol, who volunteered her time researching and writing on the topic. Thanks also to Emily Jones for her assistance with the Archives.

The site illustrates various aspects of women’s lives: In Art, in Reform, in Changing Roles, in Education, in Marriage and in the Home, each section illustrated with images from the collection.

Site Admin note:

Kindly bear with me while I learn how to use this Blog. I have at times inadvertently posted on the Home page instead of a specific page and all Home page posts are emailed to subscribers.  I am now aware of that, I have moved items to their appropriate pages and will post to pages accordingly in future, so there will be fewer email notifications.

Subscribers are NOT notified of updates to the various pages, so take a look at these pages for new posts if you like:  Opportunities, Events, Exhibits, and random interesting stuff

Let me know what you think about the blog in comments or email me at llyndig@gmail.com

Thanks, Llyn
