Active Member Wall – Lois Linet

When I take a walk my camera, moving into the landscape, I go without any preconceived notion of what I will see. If I am lucky, my subject will find me.

Drawn to the richness and variety of shapes and lines on stone, wood, sand and water, I am inevitably surprised and delighted by what I consider Nature’s wonderous abstractions .

The selected images in this series, Marks & Surfaces, are a result of my encounters with natural surfaces where patterns and marks have been created by the elements and the passage of time. They have been “found” from Oahu to California to Woodstock.

My hope is that my exploration of “seeing beyond seeing” may lead to yours.
