W O V E N: Gallery Talk 3pm, Opening Reception 4pm, Sat, Aug 17 at Kleinert

Artists Talk at 3 pm
Reception on Saturday, August 17, 4 – 6 pm

Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild’s Kleinert-James Gallery
18 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498

WOVEN celebrates the seemingly limitless artistic expressions that incorporate intersecting lines in a wide variety of materials and techniques. Free of functional constraints, the works chosen from among artists from all over the US, including Woodstock, dazzle us by their ingenuity, creativity, imaginations and skill.

The brilliant inspirations of these 22 artists render the question “is it art or is it craft” irrelevant, but you’ll be the judge.

Participating Artists:
Susan Brandeis, Yale Epstein, Marsha Farley, John Garrett, Rob Goldfarb, Hechizoo, Sheila Hicks, Nancy Koenigsberg, Alex Kveton, Lael Marshall, David Poppie, Kate Rapin, Joanne Russo, Zoe Siegel, Mamie Spiegel, Altoon Sultan, Harriet Tannin, Suzanne Tick, Grace Wapner, James Brendan Williams and Bhakti Ziek.

We are thrilled that several leading-edge galleries and collectors specializing in innovative masterpieces of the 20th and 21st centuriesgenerously loaned amazing work: Cristina Grajales Gallery, Cavin-Morris Gallery, Pavel Zoubak Gallery. Included is a work by internationally reowned textile artist, Sheila Hicks, gracefully loaned by decorataive arts experts, curator and author, Nina Strizler-Levine.

Please don’t miss this exceptional show, on exhibit from August 16 through September 29, 2013.

Sylvia Leonard Wolf and Tina Bromberg, Co-curators
