Buon Giorno from E S DeSanna!
Please join me on my remembered journeys through Italy! My exhibit MEMENTO opens 12/8 and closes 1/12 at LaBella Bistro, 194 Main Street, New Paltz NY.
The paintings and prints in this exhibit are a result of many, but never enough, visits to Italy. Included are plein air pastels, in-studio work, and original prints made with several different processes. All are inspired by the the sheer beauty I had before me – light and atmosphere, patterns of colorful houses against distant hills, cypress trees reaching heavenward, the brilliant blue of sky, lake, sea. None would appear as they are, however, were it not for the food, narrow streets, late trains, unique people, and happenstances that made each day an adventure. esd
In addition to the solo show at LaBella Pizza Bistro, my work is currently in several group shows:
A big exhibition at the Ashokan Center, 477 Beaverkill Road in Olivebridge is entitled Hudson Valley Landscapes – Catskills’ Farms and Harvests, the show includes multiple works from each artist. Participating WAAM members are Elizabeth Broad, Kate McGloughlin, Wilma Miller, Ann Porter, Sandra Scheuer, Roberta Sickler, and Janet Siskind. It runs until mid-January.
The Student Show II is at the Woodstock School of Art. It closes December 21st.
A little further afield is Hues and Views, the Autumn offering at Gray Owl Gallery at Water Street Market in New Paltz, where I am showing pastel paintings keyed to the season. WAAM member, Katherine Gray’s watercolors are also featured in this show, which ends in January.
