Dual Openings this Saturday: Lenny Kislin in High Falls and Joan Barker in Stone Ridge

High Falls

This Saturday, August 9, Wired Gallery is hosting two simultaneous solo-show openings in High Falls and Stone Ridge from 5-7 p.m. At Wired Gallery, 11 Mohonk Road in High Falls Solo show by Lenny Kislin: “Past Things, New Beginnings” gathers twenty antique assemblage sculptures by the renowned Woodstock artist. Kislin creates sculpture from antique rarities and oddities transforming them into intriguing assemblage pieces.  His style is whimsy mixed with antiquarianism, enhanced by the carefully composed titles he gives to all his pieces.

We will also inaugurate a new room at Wired Gallery named “La Petite Gallerie” to feature works by Wired Gallery Online artists, including Joan Barker, Loel Barr, Leslie Bender, Jane Bloodgood-Abrams, Bruce Bundock, Robert Draffen, John Fischer, Lynne Friedman, Robert Hite, Judith Hoyt, Warren Hurley, Deirdre Lieber, Kathleen McGuiness, Karen Shaffel, and Kaete Brittin Shaw.

The newly opened Stone Ridge restaurant Lekker and Stone Ridge Wine and Spirits will be the reception sponsors at Wired Gallery At Coldwell Banker Village Green, 3656 Main Street in Stone Ridge “Water Show” by New Paltz-based artist and photographer Joan Barker includes photographs taken in many locations such as Bonaire, Africa, New Zealand, and Las Vegas. The works, Joan Barker says “…transcend the photographic document inviting the viewer to reflect on and observe the irresistible rhythm and mystery of the sea.  The images appear painterly as colors and details flow into one another. Some of the photographs are printed on “rice” paper emphasizing the fragility of this profound translucent world.”

We hope to see you at both shows as the two locations are minutes apart from each other and will also be connected via Skype.
