Joseph Garlock: An Immigrant’s Gift to America — Paintings 1949-1980
OPENING RECEPTION: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2014, 3-6 PM
Joseph Garlock immigrated to the US from Russia in 1905 and after a lifetime of hardship, retired to Woodstock in 1949. He began painting and created an incredible body of rich, colorful and magical “outsider” art depicting shtetl life, the journey to America, and life in the USA and Woodstock. Show continues through October 19th.
