The live art experience is open to all artists of any capability – creating a visual field of sunflowers through a variety of artistic expressions. Artists of all ages and talent levels will turn blank canvases into an explosion of color and creativity.
We are calling local artists to join us this inaugural year for a live art experience. You can participate in a few different ways. You can be part of the Live Art Tent, where 50+ artists will gather together for a day of creativity. A 3’x3’ or 4’x4’ canvas will be provided, but artists will have to bring their own supplies. Pre-registering is required as space is limited. To reserve your canvas, go to http://www.sunflowerartfestival.com/artistssaf/. There is an optional donation to St. Jude Children’s Research center of $10.
The registered artist must be present for the day of the show. If the registered artist cannot make it, they are asked to let organizers know in advance so a replacement artist can be found. Only one artist or craft-person is allowed to lead art project at each canvas (assistants are allowed). The final art belongs to the artist after the close of the show. Artists have the right to sell their artwork or donate their final piece to the Sunflower Art Festival, which will be donated to a children’s hospital in the region (all proceeds from the event will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital).
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Sunflower Art Festival at (845) 419-5219.
Besides the art aspect of the festival, there will be live music all day, food vendors, and a children’s art tent. Even if you do not wish to participate in the live art aspect of the show, we invite you to come to the festival to celebrate community, friends, and life. Entrance to the event is free.
